Living Artfully segments for PBS

On Monday, I spent the day at my studio filming some short clips of artful projects for my PBS show Living Artfully.  They will be added throughout the segment to show how simple it is to live artfully.  The crew and producers that I worked with were so wonderful.  They made it such a fun day for me. 

What can you make from newspaper?

I attended a party recently for a friend who had just retired from the newspaper.  The theme of the party was "What else can you do with a newspaper besides read it".  I had so much fun making decorations for the party.  I made a cake out of newspaper, a skirt, party hats, flowers and so much more.  Here is the table with the amazing cake.

A woman wrote me recently after reading "Living Artfully" and viewing the YouTube video "Women in Art" I posted earlier.  She was so kind and shared her blog with me. She is a yoga instructor and I found her blogs very interesting and wanted to pass the link along.

I was recently introduced to the Stevenson Quintuplets in Washinton State by a woman who volunteers her time helping out the family.  The pictures of the kids are adorable and it seems like a great family.  I have sent the family my baby books and a plaque for Mom reminding her to take time for herself.  To read more about them please go to Stevenson Quints.  The families motto is "It takes a village to raise a child."
 

Ace of Cakes

On Saturday I attended the American Visionary Art Musuem's gala and Duff Goldman, from the Food Networks, Ace of Cakes was the speaker.  I really enjoyed hearing about how he got started and how his business has grown. We also got to decorate our own cakes and Duff was the judge.  I am thrilled to say that my table won.  We started with a blank cake and gathered supplies from our table, and other tables and made a masterpiece we called  "Fork it over for AVAM".  It was so much fun and we raised some money as well.
