Winner - Summer Fun for Little Money
I am pleased to announce the winner of my BIG SUMMER FUN contest. The winner will receive 6 of my new acrylic glasses that are now being sold at Walmart stores. The entries were so great, I have also chosen 4 runner ups who will receive one of my inspirational plaques. The winner is Kathryn from Omaha NE.
Here are her 5 Tips for making BIG summer FUN with little money:
1) Make new friends - expand your network of friends, don't dump your existing friends. New people bring new opportunities and present new ideas for having fun. Talk to people sitting around you at concerts, events, church, dog park, etc. You never know just how much you have in common until you make the first gesture with a quirky joke or clever observation.
2) Become a Tourist in your own city - take advantage of tourist coupons for dining out and venues. Call your local Chamber of Commerce for a catalog/brochure as they are surely loaded with discount coupons to local hot spots.
3) Plan a low budget party or get-together - this can be as casual as a coupon exchange party where everyone brings coupons rather a deck of cards and let the bidding begin!
4) Devote some time to children or animals - volunteer at a summer camp or Humane Society. There is nothing more gratifying than knowing you are contributing and building up the welfare of a child in need or animal.
5) Take a class - this is also a GREAT way to meet new people and build some new knowledge, skills and experiences. This can also include a FREE nonprofit organization such as a bible study class at your local church.

Things to do
Here is a wonderful review of my book "Things to do", It is one of my favorite books.
Yesterday evening, I had the pleasure of reading the book "Things to
do" by Sandra Magsamen. Let me tell you...it was one of my favorite
reads and I LOVED that I was done in 5 minutes. This book is inspiring
and yet looks so small on the outside. The cover says: "Things to
do...find joy in every journey, share laughter, & follow your
dreams." I give this inspiring book an A+. This book also lifted my
spirits and as I look back on this today; it still warms my heart. I
will now count my blessings each and every day.
